- "The Parish Pastoral Council is a consultative body, pastoral in nature, because it strives to discern the movement of the Holy Spirit among God's people in the parish. A Parish Pastoral Council gives its help to the pastor in fostering pastoral activity; it investigates, under the authority of the pastor, all those things which pertain to pastoral works to ponder them, and to propose practical conclusions about them. It is essential that Council meetings occur in the context of prayer and openness to the Holy Spirit, so that at all times the common good will prevail. Specifically, the Parish Pastoral Council's purpose is to enhance the process of:
- a. pastoral planning
- b. developing pastoral programs
- c. improving pastoral services
- d. evaluating the pastoral effectiveness of various programs and services"
- St. Patrick's Day Dinner - To make this event possible, we need a volunteer to step forward and commit before March 1st. The parish secretary is to contact several likely candidates to determine their availability and interest in assisting. There will be a fee to attend the event of $5/person or $15/family which will cover the costs of the dinner. There will be a no-host bar available.
- Stewardship recruitment efforts are to be made for additional Ushers, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, a Spring Clean-up Committee and Winter Snow Shovelers. All are encouraged to consider how you can contribute to the support of our parish. There will be a push to encourage increased stewardship beginning in Lent.
- Father O'Connor will offer a Study Program during Lent, to go through the Deus Caritas Est (God is Love) Encyclical recently released by Pope Benedict XVI. For additional information, contact the Parish secretary.
- We are looking for anyone with an unused, serviceable Snowblower to consider donating it to the parish.
